Halloween Weekend

Halloween has now come and gone - time goes by so quickly! I can't believe it! My one peeve...when did people stop celebrating Halloween ON Halloween? I live in Utah and for some reason it has evolved so that if Halloween happens to fall on a Sunday, you celebrate it on Saturday! How nuts is that?? And if Halloween...why not ALL Holidays? Crazy!!

Anyway, the kids had fun! Bowe was a dude from the 70's, Kylee was a prom queen, and Kaitlyn was a dead bride!

And this weekend, Bowe also shot a deer during deer hunt! He was pretty pumped! They counted and measured and said it was a 6 x 6! I am SO NOT a deer hunter, but I am told that is good! He was pretty proud of the shot!

Now it is clean up time from the Halloween decorations and getting ready for Thanksgiving and coming soon...CHRISTMAS! Ahhh.... :)

Halloween food

I am so loving the Halloween season this year! I have never been huge on the Halloween kick, but this year I have found my Halloween motivation! It is now probably my 2nd favorite holida behind Christmas! This year I have tackled decorations and crafts, cupcakes and food. Next year it is my goal to take on a Halloween party and to actual have me and my hubby dress up!! :)

So I have already posted my decorations and crafts...and here are my treats!

I made these cupcakes for my mom's work. Chocolate cupcakes with mm cream filling, chocolate frosting, "dirt" made of crushed up chocolate graham crackers and worms! These are my take on the candy corn cupcakes that I have seen so many people make! Love this idea! These I made for MY work today! Lovely little sausage fingers! My hubby thought they looked so gross, he said even thinking about putting those knuckles past his lips made him want to gag!And of course some eyeball deviled eggs! I am loving the creepy Halloween food! Next year I want to do a bunch of different things for my party...we will see if that happens! :) HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Decorating for Halloween

We finished putting up the rest of what we wanted to for Halloween this past weekend! I wanted to share some of the photos! I have made some good progress in my decorations this year! I try to gain a little more each year!!
Here is my little countdown sign at the top of the stairs with my cute little candy holding skeleton that I bought last year! This I will call my "fantel"! It is actually my tv entertainment center...but it serves my purpose of displaying "mantel-type" decorations!I love my little bear with the pumpkin shirt! And the pumpkin and scarecrow can stay up through November! Here are my little new painted pumpkins and some cute tea light holders!I still love these little apothecary jars that I made from a tutorial from Shanty 2 Chic! I had to dress them up with some skeleton heads and cobwebs!Big Frank (does anyone remember that toy??) and my new witch's broom...And I am not sure if any of you remember, but a while back, I had to purchase a mannequin for my daughter's dance solo she did...so here is my putting this purchase to GOOD USE! The tree that he is hanging from is dead and we are in the process of getting all of the large rocks and trees removed - to remove that whole island from the front yard, so the weeds make it a pretty authentic graveyard! ...do you all see his other arm attached to the tree branch...bloody on one side? haha! I wonder if my neighbors are creeped out??A close up of Manny! My front door looks so inviting! And our other little friend hangs out on the front porch, welcoming guests! :)So there are my Halloween decorations for the most part! And just because I did not want to contribute a whole post to my new birthday presents, here are pictures of my 2 new tattoos!
I designed them both myself! I LOVE to sing and would die without music in my life!!And my #1 passion...MY DAUGHTER!!! I told her this was the second time she has caused me a lot of pain! :) She told me it was MY choice! I have to agree! But totally worth it!!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Jars of Halloween

This weekend, my mom, sister and I decided to have our Halloween craft night! My sister was in love with the little Halloween jars that she has seen others make, so we set out to make some of our own! We bought 3 different sizes of jars, a bunch of different tissue paper and we created!

It was so much fun to come up with different ideas like a scarecrow, Jack the Pumpkin King, Frankenstein, etc!

Here are my moms...LOVE the goofy look on her Frankenstein!!

And my sisters...Near perfection! My fav is the Vampire!

And my 2 daughters...Kylee made the small ghost and then went to the haunted house! Kaitlyn made the bat, the big ghost and the "halloween candy" with eyes! :) So creative!

And mine! I think the scarecrow is my fav...but I love how the witch has beedy little eyes and the green bow on the pumpkin looks a little like Aunt Jemima! :)

So much fun and super, super easy!

I would love to see pics of ones that you have made!!

"Batty" for a change!

A few years ago, my mom gave me a little bat to hang up during the Halloween season! It was nice...but a little plain. It was just a black bat with 3 yellow stars hanging at the bottom.

So I decided to get out some MODGE PODGE and some cute Halloween tissue paper and cuten it up a bit!

And here is how it looks now!

Amazing what a little Modge Podge can do! :)

"BOO"tiful Blog Swap

Today I am swapping blogs with one of my newest bloggy friends

She has such fun Halloween Ideas in her new little blog! So read up and hopefully you can get some fun new Halloween ideas! Take a look and then stop on over to her blog and take a longer visit!!

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Hey bloggers! This is Cierra from cRafTyCiErRa I just started blogging last week, so be easy on me! I am a mother & wife. I love to craft & cook for my family! It seems to get me through those crazy days! I love doing anything that has to do with ribbon & paint! I like to do crafts that are cheap in price but look like they cost way more! I wanted to start blogging because I love crafting & sharing my ideas with others! My favorite craft right now are these Wooden Pumpkins for Fall! I have so much fun making them & I hope you will too! They are super cheap & easy to make but the best part is...how many compliments you will recieve on them!

ITEMS NEEDED: Orange paint, brown paint, paint brush, green ribbon, green wire, scissors, glue, small wooden pole (found at any craft store), & a pole of landscape timber (found at Home Depot)

COST: This entire project cost me $12 & once you have the wood you can make TONS more!

1. Cut the timber into 3 1/2, 5, & 7 inch blocks

2. Cut the wooden pole into 3 - 1 inch blocks

3. Paint the timber orange (I did 2 coats)

4. Paint the wooden poles (stems) brown

5. After the paint has dried, glue the stems onto the top of the timber

6. Cut off 3 long sections of wire & wrap them around the handle of the paint brush to make curls

7. Wrap the wire around the stems twice so it will hold well

8. Cut your ribbon into 3 strips & tie them into a bow on top of the wire

AND YOU'RE DONE!

I hope you will have as much fun making these as I did! Please visit me at cRaFtYCiErRa & follow my blog to see other fun crafts, recipes, & more! Thanks for reading & happy crafting!

Black and white pumpkins

As I have said before...I get so much inspiration from the blogs I read each day! Every time I do a craft and show my family and friends, they all think I am so creative and crefty, but I always tell them - if I did not follow so many wonderful blogs, I would never have the inspiration to do what I do! So thanks!! Here is another one that I have seen around a lot lately! Black and white pumpkins! I love them! I have wanted to do them for a while, and I finally got around to making some! So here they are!!

Countdown 2 Candy

I have seen these advent calendars marking the days left until Halloween a lot lately! And I wanted one! I made mine a little differently than what I have seen. I wanted mine hanging, so I used a 2x4, roughed up the edges to look a little like a piece of old wood, painted it black, added some spooky paper, the wording and some ribbon, and used some smaller pieces fashioned the same way for my numbers! I have the rest of the numbers set in a bowl in front of my sign, so it is easy for the kids to change them out each day! So much fun!! Love this idea! Thanks to all of those crafty people out there that inspire me every day!!
